As part of the 2024 Tourism Promotion Program, aimed at enhancing connections and cooperation in building tour routes and developing tourism products in Quang Tri Province, on the afternoon of December 23, at the Saigon – Dong Ha Hotel, Quang Tri Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Agency, in collaboration with the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and the Provincial Tourism Association, organized a forum for the promotion and development of tourism products in Quang Tri Province with the theme “Connection, Cooperation, and Action.”
The forum was attended by Mr. Ho Van Hoan, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism; Mr. Nguyen Hoan, Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications; Mr. Nguyen Duc Tan, Director of Quang Tri Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Agency; Mr. Do Minh Hoang, Vice President of the Provincial Business Association; Mr. Pham Cong Vinh, President of the Provincial Tourism Association; along with representatives from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Travel Associations of Quang Tri, Quang Binh, and Thua Thien Hue provinces, tourism businesses, service providers, and experts from both within and outside the province.

In his opening speech at the Forum, Mr. Nguyen Duc Tan, Director of Quang Tri Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Agency, stated: "Quang Tri, with its unique geographic location as a bridge between the two regions of the country, possesses enormous potential for tourism development. Not only does Quang Tri have distinctive historical and cultural relics, but it also boasts stunning natural landscapes, from the long coastline with its cool beaches to pristine forests, famous revolutionary sites such as the Quang Tri Citadel, Vinh Moc Tunnels, a system of traditional craft villages, and unique cultural festivals. These values, if properly and effectively exploited, will undoubtedly be key factors in propelling Quang Tri's tourism to new heights and driving strong development in the future. To achieve success in tourism development, collaboration between government agencies, businesses, investors, and the community is crucial. Today’s forum is not only an opportunity for us to share new perspectives and ideas but also a chance to find partners and create new cooperation opportunities, thereby promoting the sustainable development of Quang Tri's tourism in the coming years."

The Forum also heard the directional speech on tourism development by Mr. Ho Van Hoan, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism. He stated: "The overall tourism development plan for Quang Tri Province until 2025, with a vision toward 2030, has been approved by the Provincial People’s Council under Resolution No. 35/2017/NQ-HĐND. Based on new development conditions, the provincial tourism master plan has been adjusted and updated into the Quang Tri Province Master Plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. Defining the development of tourism types and products is crucial for the tourism sector's growth. Quang Tri Province has oriented tourism types and products based on the characteristics of its tourism resources and the needs of the customer market. The direction for developing Quang Tri’s tourism products until 2030 is being carried out in two main ways: according to tourism territories and by customer market."

As part of the Forum, experts, investors, and businesses involved in service and tourism operations both within and outside the province discussed and proposed solutions to enhance connections and cooperation in building inter-regional and inter-provincial tour routes, aiming to more effectively utilize existing tourism routes. They shared experiences in managing and developing unique tourism products, with a particular focus on attracting international tourists. Additionally, they emphasized the importance of taking action to turn innovative ideas into specific programs and practical plans that would help Quang Tri become a leading destination on the tourism map of Vietnam.

Immediately following the Forum, Quang Tri Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Agency and the Provincial Tourism Association signed a cooperation agreement on tourism linkage and development activities for 2025. Additionally, the Travel Associations of three provinces Quang Tri, Quang Binh, and Thua Thien Hue signed a cooperation agreement to develop and link tourism tours in the near future.

On this occasion, Quang Tri Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Agency also organized an exhibition area showcasing publications on tourism, trade, and investment, as well as OCOP products and other distinctive products from Quang Tri Province.
