Speaking at the opening of the conference, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Doan Van Viet said that in the first 7 months of 2023, the number of international tourists coming to Vietnam reached 6.6 million; Domestic tourists reached about 76.5 million; Total revenue from tourists is estimated at 416.6 trillion VND. Vietnam is considered one of the countries with a high level of improvement in the tourism development capacity index in the world. Vietnam's tourism industry is facing a strong development opportunity, attracting international tourists to Vietnam, contributing to promoting the country's socio-economic growth.
At the conference, Deputy Director General of Vietnam National Tourism Administration Ha Van Sieu reported on the content and solutions to restore and accelerate effective and sustainable tourism development in the spirit of Resolution No. 82/NQ-CP and Vietnam tourism marketing strategy until 2030.
Resolution No. 82/NQ-CP dated May 18, 2023 of the Government on main tasks and solutions to accelerate recovery and speed up effective and sustainable tourism development was issued with 7 tasks and solutions. Main solutions include: promoting restructuring of the tourism industry towards professionalism, modernity and sustainability; continue to create favorable conditions to attract international tourists to Vietnam; Increase investment attraction for targeted tourism development, focusing on national tourist areas; product development and communication, advertising and promotion of tourism; support tourism businesses; improve the quality of training and human resources; Accelerate digital transformation, promote startups and innovation in the tourism sector.
Vietnam Tourism Marketing Strategy until 2030 was approved by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism with the goal of promoting and positioning Vietnam as the leading attractive tourist destination in Southeast Asia, affirming brand and competitiveness of Vietnamese tourism, contributing to implementing the goals of the Vietnam Tourism Development Strategy until 2030.
Next, the conference heard Head of Tourism Promotion Management Department (Vietnam National Tourism Administration) Nguyen Quy Phuong report on some models of developing night tourism products. The goal is that by 2025, there will be at least one night tourism product model in 12 provinces and cities; Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City will form separate night entertainment complexes; forming a separate night entertainment complex. By 2030, expand to form separate night entertainment complexes in 9 provinces and cities; synchronously develop night tourism products; Forming a brand for night tourism products.
Promising night tourism product development models include: cultural and artistic performance activities; Sports activities, health care, beauty; shopping, night entertainment; night tour; Introducing culinary culture and nightlife services.
Accordingly, many specific solutions are proposed such as: investing, upgrading facilities, diversifying and improving the quality of products and services; organize unique and attractive sightseeing and experience programs; upgrading transportation equipment; Proposing mechanisms and policies to attract investment in infrastructure construction; Strengthen inspection, testing and control of goods quality; Strengthen destination management.
Speaking at the conference's conclusion, General Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Nguyen Trung Khanh requested localities to continue effectively implementing tourism development contents; Businesses and people must join hands to develop the tourism industry. Promote the effective implementation of Resolution No. 82/NQ-CP dated May 18, 2023 of the Government, aiming to develop tourism comprehensively and extensively to maximize internal resources, mobilize and utilize effective external resources, continue to improve competitiveness and gradually build and position the Vietnamese tourism brand. Accelerate and act more decisively to create a breakthrough in tourism development. Considering businesses and people as the subjects, tourists as the center, products and infrastructure as the foundation, advanced and modern services as the driving force for tourism development. Quickly grasp new tourism trends, orient business opportunities for tourism businesses, aiming to develop Vietnam's tourism to truly become a key economic sector in the spirit of Resolution No. 08- Resolution/TW dated January 16, 2017 of the Politburo.
