On March 7, 2025, Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee held a Conference to summarize activities to celebrate typical events and the Festival for Peace in 2024, and at the same time deploy plans to organize major important events in 2025.
Attending the conference were Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam and representatives of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province; representatives of departments and localities; members of the Organizing Committee of the Peace Festival in 2024 and other important events. In particular, the conference had the participation of accompanying units, sponsors of the events, and representatives of press and media agencies.

In 2024, Quang Tri province organized many important celebrations and events, including notable activities such as: The 117th anniversary of the birth of General Secretary Le Duan (April 7, 1907 - 2024); the National Reunification Festival; the 65th anniversary of the opening of the Ho Chi Minh Trail and the Truong Son Troops' Traditional Day; the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day; the 52nd anniversary of the Liberation of Quang Tri province and the 52nd anniversary of the 81-day event of protecting Quang Tri Ancient Citadel, along with the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day. In addition, the province also held a ceremony to announce the Prime Minister's Decision on recognizing Dong Ha city as a type II urban area under the province, celebrate the 15th anniversary of the establishment of Dong Ha city (2009 - 2024), receive the Second Class Independence Medal and the Certificate of recognition of Trieu Phong district as meeting new rural standards in 2023. Other notable events include the art program "Parallel 17 - Aspiration for Peace", the conference to announce the Quang Tri Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, the groundbreaking ceremony of the Quang Tri Airport project and the "Journey to the Land of Fire" Marathon.
In particular, in 2024, Quang Tri province successfully organized the first Festival for Peace, with events of national and international scale, highlighting the position, image and cultural identity of Quang Tri on the map of Vietnam and the world. Within the framework of the festival, many notable activities took place such as: Cycling Festival For Peace; opening program of the 2024 For Peace festival; Cultural - Culinary festival "Taste of the sunny flower land"; Trinh Cong Son music night "Peace Song"; and the program "Peace Wish". Through these activities, Quang Tri has created extensive political activities, bringing an exciting and joyful atmosphere to the people, while contributing to educating about the historical, cultural and revolutionary traditions of the locality. The events also honor the value of peace, pay tribute to heroic martyrs, commemorate war victims, arouse national pride and help enhance national values, while promoting the image of a Quang Tri that is on the path of revival and strong development in the international arena. At the conference, delegates reviewed the achievements in organizing festivals in 2024, in which the highlight was the Festival for Peace - an event of special significance to spread the message of peace and friendship of Quang Tri to domestic and international friends. The contributions and experiences drawn from the organization of festivals will be the basis for building a plan to organize major events in 2025 in a more systematic and effective manner.

In his speech at the conference, Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong acknowledged and highly appreciated the contributions of units and individuals in successfully organizing events in 2024. At the same time, the provincial leaders also emphasized that 2025 will be the year of many important commemorative events, including: 95 years of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam; 80 years of the August Revolution and National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; 50 years of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification; 135 years of the birthday of President Ho Chi Minh; 100 years of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day; 80 years of the Traditional Day of the Vietnam People's Public Security and 20 years of the National Day for National Security Protection; 50th anniversary of Hai Lang district liberation day.
To ensure that the organization of the commemorative activities takes place safely, solemnly and meaningfully, the Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has requested departments and localities to promptly deploy the organization plan, combining the province's events with the country's major commemorative activities. The organization of the commemorative ceremony needs to be closely linked to the implementation of key projects, welcoming the Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Congress of the Party. It is necessary to continue to innovate and improve the quality of both content and organization, ensuring professionalism and efficiency. Tourism promotion and advertising also need to be promoted, combined with investment and trade promotion activities, focusing on developing typical tourism products. In addition, it is necessary to focus on training and fostering human resources, investing in upgrading infrastructure to serve festival activities. It is also necessary to promote socialization, attract resources from domestic and foreign organizations and enterprises, and promptly reward groups and individuals with outstanding contributions.
On this occasion, the provincial leaders awarded Certificates of Merit from the Provincial Party Standing Committee to 5 agencies and 6 individuals, along with Certificates of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee Chairman to 28 agencies and 33 individuals, in recognition of their outstanding achievements in successfully organizing the Festival For Peace 2024.
