The opening of the quintessence of craft villages and regional specialties 2024 in Ho Chi Minh City.

On the morning of December 12, 2024, at Le Loi Street, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, the opening ceremony of “the quintessence of craft villages and regional specialties 2024" program took place. The event, organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) in collaboration with various departments, will run from December 12 to December 15, 2024.

The event was attended by Mr. Nguyen Van Dung – Member of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Mr. Le Đuc Tien – Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee, along with representatives from various departments of provinces such as Quang Tri, Thaa Thien - Hue, Đak Nong, Tay Ninh, Ben Tre, Kien Giang, Soc Trang, as well as enterprises, cooperatives, traditional craft artisans, and media representatives, alongside many visitors.
In his opening speech, Mr. Nguyễn Văn Dũng emphasized that the program aimed to strengthen economic and social cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces nationwide. Through this event, domestic businesses had the opportunity to connect, form trade and tourism linkages, enhance regional cooperation, and work with local promotional organizations. It served as a crucial bridge between businesses, cooperatives, and large modern distribution systems, boosting product consumption, brand development, and market expansion.

This year's program attracted over 30 provinces and cities, with more than 200 businesses showcasing over 500 traditional craft products, local specialties, and OCOP products. Highlights included 4-star OCOP fish róc from Ninh Binh, shrimp crackers from Ba Duc Ancient House in Tien Giang, brocade fabric from Lao Cai, dong noodles from Lao Cai, and pepper from Binh Phuoc. It also featured craft villages such as bamboo weaving in Soc Trang, mat weaving in Tien Giang, rice paper and shrimp crackers in Ben Tre, silk weaving in Thai Binh and Quang Nam, and brocade weaving in Gia Lai.

This year, Quang Tri Province participated in the quintessence of craft villages and regional specialties 2024  program with four businesses: Nhat Chi Food Trading and Service Co., Ltd., SUKHA Co., Ltd., Thien Bao Food Trading and Manufacturing Co., Ltd., and Madam Huong Business. They showcased and promoted the province's signature products such as civet coffee, Arabica coffee, vegetable noodles, medicinal herbs, dried bananas, green bean powder, and turmeric starch. These businesses conducted marketing activities, introducing their products directly to customers, attracting strong attention and leaving a lasting impression on both domestic and international visitors.

As part of the program, the organizers held a trade connection conference between Vietnamese businesses and modern distribution systems. The goal was to support and create opportunities for businesses, cooperatives, and production facilities to seek collaboration, establish business linkages, connect supply and demand, promote goods, and explore markets and development opportunities for traditional craft products and regional specialties. Additionally, visitors had the chance to learn from artisans on how to create regional specialty products and participate in cultural community activities, enjoying recognized cultural and artistic heritage forms. The program took place from December 12 to 15, 2024.
