Hien Luong - Ben Hai riverbanks special national relic
This is the first festival carrying the message of Peace held in Quang Tri and Vietnam with the aim to build Quang Tri into a cultural space for Peace, a destination for Peace, a meeting place for friends from all over who love the peace.
In particular, in the current world context where there are still conflict points, the Festival for Peace is held in the land of Quang Tri that once had much pain, loss, and destruction due to wars, where "The sacred land blooms with flowers of peace” will convey the message of the strong vitality of the peace-loving Vietnamese people, calling on humanity to join hands in building sustainable peace in the world.
The festival will be opened on the evening of July 06, 7, at the special national relic of Hien Luong - Ben Hai riverbanks with a series of meaningful activities and unique art programs. The festival will create emotional highlights that "bring a world of peace to Quang Tri" - the land that has become a symbol of the desire for peace, healing and revival. The 2024 Festival for Peace will be a living testament to that aspiration, when Quang Tri welcomes international friends, joining together to build a future of peace, solidarity and development, transforming the painful in the past, and become a strong driving force for new steps.
Quang Tri Ancient Citadel
The framework of the 2024 Festival for Peace will include the following main activities:
- Cycling for Peace Festival
- Time: From June 29 - 30, 2024
– Venue: Special National Relic of Hien Luong - Ben Hai riverbanks and Quang Tri Ancient Citadel.
(There are expected to be about 1.000 athletes from bicycle clubs of provinces and cities nationwide; Bicycle Club of Quang Tri province and Bicycle Club of provinces: Salavan, Sanavakhet, Xekong - Lao People's Democratic Republic; Ratanakiri province - Kingdom of Cambodia and Mukdahan, Nakhon Phanom, Sakon Phanom provinces - Kingdom of Thailand).
– Cycling for Peace Festival activity program:
+ June 29, 2024: Organize a parade with the theme "Cycling for Peace" Festival taking place with the route: Hien Luong - Ben Hai relic - Truong Son National Martyrs Cemetery - Fidel Park; along with many other meaningful activities.
+ June 30, 2024: Organize a bicycle race around Quang Tri Ancient Citadel with the theme: “Destination for Peace” with the participation of 300 athletes.

- Cultural - Culinary Festival "The flavor of sunny and windy land"
- Time: From June 12 - 14, 2024.
- Venue: Cua Viet beach tourism area, Gio Linh district, Quang Tri province.
– Operational program Cultural - Culinary Festival:

+ Cuisine activities of 100 booths with typical dishes and drinks of regions;
+ Cuisine performance.
+ International kites Exchange on the beach;
+ Other experience activities: Instructing visitors to cook and make kites; Competitions, games, etc.

4.1. Trinh Cong Son's music night "Peace songs"

- Location: Park Fidel, Dong Ha city, Quang Tri province.

- Time: 8pm to 9pm on July 26, 2024
- Location: Quang Tri town, Quang Tri province.

+ Lighting Flowers ceremony (southern banks of Thach Han River)
+ Great Ceremony to pray for the heroic martyrs (Liberation Square)

The People's Committee of Quang Tri province is calling and welcoming all visitors in the country and all over the world to come to Quang Tri in this special festival not only for aspiring the peace but also exploring this fired land to respect the peace nowsaday. Currently, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province and the Organizing Committee of the 2024 Festival for Peace are implementing preparations for organizing the Festival.
