On the morning of May 30, 2025, at Co.opmart Foodcosa Quang Trung (304A Quang Trung Street, Ward 11, Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City), the People's Committee of Quang Tri Province, in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Trade Cooperatives (Saigon Co.op), organized the Opening Ceremony of the Quang Tri Product Fair in Ho Chi Minh City 2025.
This event is part of the 2025 Trade Promotion Program of Quang Tri Province, and aims to effectively implement the socio-economic development cooperation agreement for the 2023–2025 period between Ho Chi Minh City and the North Central provinces, including Quang Tri. Under the framework of this cooperation, the People's Committee of Quang Tri Province assigned the Quang Tri Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Agency to organize the fair in partnership with Saigon Co.op.

The Quang Tri Product Fair in Ho Chi Minh City 2025 is organized with the aim of enhancing communication efforts and promoting the image and brand of OCOP products, outstanding rural industrial goods, and specialty items from Quang Tri Province. The event creates opportunities for businesses to introduce, promote, and seek new distributors within the Saigon Co.op system in particular, and across broader distribution networks in Ho Chi Minh City in general.
This initiative contributes to increasing product value and fostering the socio-economic development of Quang Tri Province. At the same time, it serves to promote the province’s image, its land, people, and tourist destinations to the residents of Ho Chi Minh City. The fair harmoniously combines trade and investment promotion with tourism marketing, helping position Quang Tri as an attractive destination for both consumers and investors.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Le Duc Tien emphasized: “This first-ever product promotion day in Ho Chi Minh City—organized with support from the city’s authorities and Saigon Co.op—is a valuable opportunity to showcase Quang Tri’s products, expand sustainable supply-demand connections, and increase market reach. I believe the event will attract a large number of visitors, generate strong consumer demand, boost production, and enhance business competitiveness. It will also promote sustainable tourism development.”

The “One Commune One Product” (OCOP) program focuses on developing agriculture in a clean, organic direction by establishing specialized farming areas for organic rice, Khe Sanh Arabica coffee, pepper, herbal extracts such as An Xoa, Solanum procumbens (cà gai leo), wild tea (chè vằng), essential oils, peanut oil, and more — all of which have high value and established market brands.
Based on this foundation, through proactive trade promotion efforts and active participation in supply-demand connection programs, Quang Tri’s products have gained strong traction in the domestic market and have been successfully exported to various international markets.
As of now, Quang Tri Province has a total of 172 OCOP-certified products, including 2 products rated 5 stars, 43 products rated 4 stars, and the rest rated 3 stars. These certified OCOP products from Quang Tri have shown significant improvement in quantity, quality, design diversity, packaging, and full compliance with labeling, branding, and traceability regulations.

The Quang Tri Product Promotion Day in Ho Chi Minh City 2025 marks the first time Quang Tri Province has organized such an event in Vietnam’s largest and most dynamic economic hub. This event serves as a vital bridge, demonstrating the province’s proactive approach to market integration and its efforts to expand the distribution network for products made by local businesses, cooperatives, and production facilities.
At the event, consumers have the opportunity to directly experience and access hundreds of carefully selected products, including agricultural goods, processed foods, and medicinal herbs from reputable enterprises, traditional craft villages, and signature production areas of Quang Tri. Among the most notable are OCOP-certified products rated 3 to 5 stars, organic goods, and traceable items such as Arabica coffee, black pepper, organic rice, herbal extracts (like Che Vang and Ca Gai Leo), essential oils (melaleuca, lemongrass, pomelo, lemon), traditional fish sauce, mixed grain powders, vegetable-based noodles, turmeric starch, and the convenient Ca Men instant porridge.

Although the number of products displayed at this event may be more modest compared to traditional trade fairs or expos, it represents a major breakthrough with significant strategic implications for the province’s trade promotion efforts. Featuring products at Co.opmart – one of Vietnam’s leading modern retail chains – is no simple feat. To participate in this event, Quang Tri businesses had to:
✔️ Submit detailed product dossiers for thorough screening by Co.opmart
✔️ Ensure strict compliance with quality standards, packaging, traceability, and food safety regulations
✔️ Meet stringent requirements for goods sold in modern retail environments
The fact that Quang Tri products were officially selected and displayed at Co. opmart is a clear testament to the professionalism and quality of local enterprises, as well as the province’s growing capability to integrate into modern markets.
More than just a promotional event, the Product Promotion Day marks an important first step for Quang Tri's goods to penetrate deeper into major distribution networks, paving the way for broader market reach and sustainable growth.
