On March 24, 2021, in Hanoi, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province coordinated with Eni Vietnam Company (Italy) to organize a conference to connect and develop gas energy in Quang Tri province.
There were nearly 100 delegates from ministries, central branches and investors, including many leading domestic and foreign gas and energy investors attending the conference. On the side of provincial leaders, there were Mr. Le Quang Tung, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Vo Van Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Quang Tri People’s Committee, Mr. Ha Sy Dong, Member of the Standing Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of Quang Tri People’s Committee, Mr. Le Duc Tien, Vice Chairman of Quang Tri People’s Committee, and representatives of leaders of relevant departments, boards and branches of the province.
Mr. Vo Van Hung, Chairman of Quang Tri People’s Committee expressed the message in building Quang Tri to become a "dynamic and responsible inter-regional energy center". The authority and people of Quang Tri are determined to accompany with individuals, units, organizations and companies investing in the field of energy development, especially gas energy in the locality.
On the side of Eni Vietnam, CEO Luca Dragonetti also presented a report on the prospect of Ken Bau mine and the desire of Eni Group in terms of needs, development roadmap, connectivity of Ken Bau mine that were received a lot of enthusiastic comments from representatives of leaders of ministries, central branches, leading management experts, especially from international corporations such as Gazprom International (Russia), Hanwha Energy (Korea), EDRA (Malaysia), Vietgazprom Joint Venture... in policy issues of implementing energy exploitation infrastructure projects in particular and gas in general, especially the Ken Bau gas field. The conference then focused on discussing the progress and requirements for the project development of some investors and potential investors.
Speaking at the closing of the Conference, Mr. Le Quang Tung, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, said that the orientation to strive for Quang Tri to become a regional energy center is an opportunity for socio-economic development for the locality in the near future. He affirmed that although there were still limitations in infrastructure, with the strong support of the Government, ministries, central branches, Quang Tri is determined to realize the above-mentioned goal. That includes promoting the connection potential of the Ken Bau gas field.
Mr. Le Quang Tung also informed that the Prime Minister approved the investment policy of Quang Tri Industrial Park project by VSIP-Amata-Sumitomo Joint Venture, which are the leading international industrial park developers to act as investors and call on businesses and investors not to hesitate and miss opportunities in finding and implementing investment projects in the Quang Tri to take advantage of development opportunities.Quang Tri Party Committee, government and people are determined to accompany and support investors in the field of energy development, especially local gas energy in the coming time, contributing to creating a breakthrough for Quang Tri.
