Quang Tri PPC's Chairman Vo Van Hung meets Gazprom International Company and Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PVN)

On March 10, 2022, in Hanoi, Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung had a meeting with Mr. Sergey Turmanov, General Director of Gazprom International and senior officials from Gazprom Group, the company Gazprom International and the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PVN) to discuss the cooperation in implementing the 340MW gas-fired thermal power project assigned by Gazprom International as the Investor in the Southeast Quang Tri Economic Zone.
 

At this meeting, on the basis of previous working sessions between leaders of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee and leaders of Gazprom International, the Gazprom International delegation updated and supplemented information related to the project implementation progress, the next tasks to be implemented for the project, the need to expand the factory capacity to increase the efficiency of the investment project, research the consumption market, cooperate with mining operators in the region to connect the existing gas fields, the contents need support from the Government, ministries, central branches of Vietnam and Quang Tri province so that the project can be implemented as soon as possible. Gazprom International also appreciates the active support of Quang Tri province in the past time and proposes that the province continue to appoint a focal point to closely coordinate with the Investor during the project implementation.

On behalf of the government and people of Quang Tri province, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung exchanged information about the work that Quang Tri province has been implementing to serve the development of Quang Tri province, striving to become a become a new energy center of the central region on the basis of renewable energy power projects, electricity and gas pipeline planning, information on major policies of the Government in supporting economic development - Quang Tri province society.
 

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also acknowledged Gazprom International's efforts in implementing the project in the past time and suggested that Gazprom International work closely with Quang Tri province to focus on completing negotiations and signing minutes. Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Industry and Trade on the project development roadmap according to the order prescribed by Vietnamese law. Regarding Gazprom's recommendations on project mechanisms and policies, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province will receive and coordinate with PVN to consider and propose Vietnamese competent authorities to consider and handle in the direction of creating favorable conditions. benefits to the Investor in accordance with the legal framework of Vietnam.

Previously, the delegation of the province and Gazprom International had a working session with the Minister of Industry and Trade to discuss technical issues related to the development of the integrated project.
