This is the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh on the pilot plan to welcome international tourists to Vietnam.

Accordingly, he asked ministries: Culture, Sports and Tourism, Health, Public Security, National Defense, Foreign Affairs, Transport, Information and Communication and People's Committees: Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang City, Kien Giang Province, Khanh Hoa Province, Quang Nam Province, Quang Ninh Province, Binh Dinh Province and related agencies continue to implement the pilot plan welcoming international tourists to Vietnam safely and effectively.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism shall coordinate with other ministries and sectors to adjust the Provisional Guidance on  welcoming international tourists to Vietnam in accordance with current regulations (Resolution No.155/NQ-CP dated December 8, 2021 of the Government and Document No. 10688/BYT-MT of December 16, 2021 of the Ministry of Health on COVID-19 prevention and control). Entering Vietnam, international tourists must have visas according to regulations to ensure the control of security and disease.

Previously, at Resolution No.155, the Government directed the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to continue taking measures to promote domestic tourism safety, especially during Christmas, New Year 2022 and Lunar New Year. Gradually expand the target markets and destinations in the pilot plan to welcome international visitors to Vietnam in accordance with the situation of COVID-19 pandemic; Strengthening communication and promotion of Vietnam tourism on digital platforms and application of new technologies.

According to the new regulation in Document No. 10688, the person who have received a full dose of vaccine or have recovered from COVID-19, within the first 3 days from the date of arrival will self-monitor their health at their places of residence (including houses, hotels, motels, resorts, offices of representative missions, dormitories, guest houses...); not contact, not go out; test for SARS-CoV-2 by RT-PCR on the 3rd day from the date of entry. If the test results are negative, they will continue to monitor their health until the end of 14th day from the date of entry. The new regulation is applied from January 1, 2022.
