This year's OCOP Products Week showcases nearly 1,000 products from over 320 businesses and cooperatives across 32 provinces and cities nationwide. The event is organized by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ho Chi Minh City in collaboration with localities. It is an important event aimed at promoting agricultural products unique to many provinces across the country. The event is part of a cooperation plan to develop the socio-economic ties between Ho Chi Minh City and provinces in the Mekong Delta, Southeast, Central Highlands, Central Coastal, North Central, and some northern areas. The goal is to support enterprises, cooperatives, and other entities in introducing and promoting OCOP products—exemplary products thereby enhancing connections, consumption, and aiming for exports.
In his opening speech at the event, Mr. Vo Van Hoan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, emphasized: “Ho Chi Minh City needs to build a brand and elevate Vietnamese products, especially OCOP products and regional specialties. Therefore, the City has assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to coordinate with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to set up spaces for guidance, consultation, and online sales demonstrations (livestream) on social media platforms and e-commerce platforms. This initiative, part of the event, creates new opportunities, helping producers and businesses introduce their products to consumers across the country, while also supporting the consumption of goods, enhancing value, increasing profits, and expanding markets.”
