The mountainous region of Western Quang Tri is home to majestic natural landscapes, especially forests and mountains interspersed with diverse and pristine waterfalls and caves. Here, all the elements are fully converged to develop ecotourism combined with community cultural experiences.

About 27 km north of National Highway 9, Chenh Venh Waterfall is located on the West branch of Ho Chi Minh Road in Huong Phung Commune, Huong Hoa District. It is one of the beautiful, attractive and unique tourist destinations, along with a number of community tourism models and homestays in the village.
Coming here, tourists stay in traditional stilt house homestays of the Van Kieu people, experience the daily life of the local people, learn about and enjoy unique festivals, perform gong musical instruments and folk songs of the Van Kieu people and enjoy typical dishes.
In addition, an attractive destination and chosen by many tourists when coming to Huong Hoa district is Ta Puong waterfall located in Trang Ta Puong village, Huong Viet commune. Coming here, tourists can immerse themselves in the cool water, participate in the experience of SUP rowing; enjoy the specialties of the Van Kieu people; learn about the products made from bamboo by local people.

Huong Hoa district is endowed by nature with many scenic spots, a system of majestic caves and waterfalls that are still pristine and an ideal climate. In addition to Chenh Venh and Ta Puong waterfalls, there are also beautiful waterfalls and newly discovered cave systems along with many historical landscapes such as Dong Tri hill, Sa Mu pass, etc and about 21 national and provincial relics.
Among them, there are particularly important relics such as: Ho Chi Minh Road, Road 9-Khe Sanh, Lao Bao prison, Ta Con airbase, Vay village. These are considered the bases and favorable conditions for the locality to develop community tourism space, ecological experiences associated with historical relics.
From those potentials and advantages, Huong Hoa has determined to focus on building 3 groups of potential tourism products: eco-tourism, cultural-historical tourism and community-craft village tourism. Particularly for eco-tourism products, the locality is currently focusing on directing the development of 2 destinations: Ta Puong waterfall in Huong Viet commune and Chenh Venh waterfall in Huong Phung commune. In addition, some potential locations are also exploited seasonally such as the Quang Tri Hydropower reservoir, Ta Du stream in Tan Hop commune. In addition, the locality has been investing in routes to tourist destinations such as Brai cave; Ta Puong, O O, Xan Du waterfalls,etc with a total amount of 80 billion VND to facilitate sightseeing; mobilize capital sources to renovate, build and effectively exploit the Road 9-Khe Sanh Museum; Lao Bao Prison Relic; Vay Village.

In addition to Huong Hoa, Dakrong district is also a locality with a system of historical relics and unique natural landscapes with over 10 large and small caves. There is Dakrong Nature Reserve, which preserves a rich, diverse and rare treasure trove of flora and fauna, creating conditions for ecotourism and exploration activities. The system of rivers, streams, caves and waterfalls in Dakrong creates its own unique mark, a wild natural beauty, a fresh feeling hidden under the natural forest such as Chinh Hinh stream; the waterfalls O O, Luoi, Hien, Xo Trieng, Ta Tung or A Lao stream, Lang An stream; Cave of the Lord, A Po Ly Hong.
In addition, Dakrong has many types of local culinary specialties, such as wine, bamboo rice, snail porridge, wild vegetables. Even richer is the intangible cultural treasure of the Bru-Van Kieu and Pa Ko people, from musical instruments such as gongs, Ta Lu lutes, panpipes to new rice festivals, A rieu Ping, drinking oath wine, etc and traditional crafts of weaving, brocade weaving, etc will create a series of unique cultural features to help tourists come to Dakrong more.
The People's Committee of Quang Tri province has approved the task of planning the construction of the 1/2000 scale Brai-Ta Puong Eco-tourism Area combined with community tourism development in the Trang-Ta Puong village, Huong Viet commune and Brai mountain in A Xoc village, Huong Lap commune, Huong Hoa district. The project has a scale of about 170 hectares with a total investment of about 200 billion VND to build a high-class resort with many experiential activities. In Dakrong district, the Provincial People's Committee approved the Ba Voi Waterfall Eco-tourism Area project on an area of ​​120 hectares with an investment of 200 billion VND to create adventure games, eco-tourism, resorts, nature exploration and community tourism. In addition, the project of Luoi Waterfall Eco-tourism Area combined with community tourism development on an area of ​​about 50 hectares in Mo O commune, Dakrong district with types of entertainment, exploration, experience of nature and culture of ethnic minorities is also included in the local socio-economic development plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.
