Positive Signals at the Beginning of the Year
According to Mr. Tran Dinh Hiep, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the successful export to the U.S. market—known for its strict requirements on quality, safety, and traceability—demonstrates that Quang Tri’s OCOP products can meet international standards when they are properly developed and invested in. He emphasized that once a product successfully enters demanding markets like the United States, it strengthens the confidence of partners, consumers, and OCOP producers, encouraging more enterprises to develop high-quality products for global markets.
To prepare for this export shipment, An Xuan Organic Herbal Medicine Co., Ltd. carefully standardized every stage of production, including cultivation areas, farming practices, harvesting, processing, testing, and packaging.
According to Tran Le Quynh Diem, Director of the company, even a small mistake in product documentation, labeling, or compliance standards could affect the entire shipment. Therefore, the company chose a careful and systematic approach, prioritizing credibility and quality from the very first export.

Ocop products must meet international standards
The recent provincial administrative restructuring has opened up broader development opportunities for the OCOP Program. Larger and more diverse raw material regions now allow producers to reorganize production, build value chains, and increase competitiveness.
Quang Tri Province currently has 395 OCOP products, including 3 five-star products, 64 four-star products, and 328 three-star products. In 2025 alone, an additional 31 products met the criteria for provincial OCOP recognition.
Evaluation results show that participating producers increasingly focus on quality improvement, food safety standards, traceability, and product storytelling connected with local culture and raw material regions. Packaging and labeling have also been upgraded to meet the requirements of modern distribution systems and e-commerce platforms.
An Xuan Organic Herbal Medicine Co., Ltd. partners with ethnic minority households to expand raw material cultivation areas.
According to Mr. Tran Dinh Hiep, Quang Tri Province aims for 4-star and 5-star OCOP products to expand into international markets, but through sustainable development and genuine product quality. The government will act as a facilitator and supporter, while OCOP producers remain the central driving force.
The province will support enterprises in achieving and maintaining international standards, including food safety certifications, organic standards, traceability systems, quality management standards, and specialized certifications tailored to each export market. At the same time, Quang Tri will develop sustainable raw material zones, strengthen cooperation among farmers, cooperatives, and enterprises, and ensure consistent production capacity to meet large export orders.
Trade promotion activities and international market connections will also be enhanced. OCOP products will be promoted by product groups and under the shared provincial brand, helping strengthen credibility and negotiation capacity in global markets. Through these efforts, Quang Tri’s agricultural and herbal products are expected to steadily expand their presence in both domestic and international markets, contributing to sustainable rural economic development.
