An Lạc is one of the most well-known flower villages in Quảng Trị, supplying a wide variety of fresh flowers to markets both inside and outside the province, especially during the Lunar New Year season. Flower cultivation began to develop in An Lạc after 1975, meaning the village has nearly half a century of experience in the craft. In the early years, villagers grew flowers on the fertile alluvial land along the Hiếu River, mainly cultivating traditional varieties such as marigolds, gladiolus, and dahlias. From these modest beginnings, the village has gradually expanded to grow a diverse range of flowers in vibrant colors, meeting the increasingly varied tastes of customers. Over the decades, flower cultivation has become the main livelihood of local residents and a source of pride for the community. Farming knowledge passed down through generations, combined with the application of modern agricultural techniques, has created a stable and distinctive flower-growing area characteristic of the sunny and windy Central region.
Visitors to An Lạc Flower Village are easily captivated by its open, fresh, and colorful landscape. Hundreds of flower varieties bloom throughout the seasons, forming a vivid and emotionally rich natural picture. Crystal chrysanthemums, yellow pompom chrysanthemums, daisies, marigolds, gerberas, roses, hanging flowers, potted flowers, and ornamental plants each display their own beauty, contributing to the unique character of An Lạc. Toward the end of the year, especially before the Lunar New Year, the village transforms into a vibrant “sea of flowers,” attracting numerous visitors, photographers, and local residents from both inside and outside the province who come to visit, purchase flowers, and capture memorable moments.

Beyond its visual charm, An Lạc Flower Village also reflects the authentic working life of farmers in rural Quảng Trị. Walking along small paths winding through flower garden, visitors can directly observe the meticulous processes of planting, nurturing, watering, pruning, and harvesting flowers. Each pot is carefully tended, and every young plant is nurtured with the hopes and dedication of the growers. Through these experiences, visitors gain a deeper appreciation for the value of labor and a greater understanding of the challenges and pride of people who have devoted their lives to this traditional craft.
With its convenient location near the urban center and easy connections to major transport routes and well-known attractions in the province, An Lạc Flower Village has strong potential to become an attractive stop on travel itineraries exploring Quảng Trị in the future. Visitors can combine trips to the flower village with visits to historical sites, natural landscapes, and cultural and spiritual attractions nearby, creating diverse and enriching travel experiences. This also provides favorable conditions for developing thematic tourism products such as agricultural tourism, community-based tourism, and cultural experience tours.
With its simple yet captivating beauty, An Lạc Flower Village contributes to the vibrant colors of spring, beautifying the streets of Quảng Trị and enriching the spiritual life of the community. In addition to providing stable income for local residents, the flower-growing profession creates regular employment for many workers while helping preserve and promote the value of this traditional craft village.
